Zapatilla Islands
Two uninhabited cays within Bastimentos National Marine Park, ringed by powder-fine white sand and luminous turquoise shallows. The fringing coral reefs host abundant tropical fish, and the islands serve as critical nesting habitat for endangered hawksbill sea turtles from April to October.
Local Tips & Practical Info
Book a full-day boat tour or private charter. September and October offer the calmest seas and best snorkeling visibility. Bring your own water and sun protection — there are no facilities on the islands. Follow park rules: stay on marked paths and never disturb turtle nesting areas.
