Red Frog Beach
A wide golden-sand crescent on Isla Bastimentos backed by lush rainforest, named for the tiny red poison dart frogs that inhabit the surrounding trails. The moderate surf is great for body-boarding and intermediate surfers, while the beach bars offer cold drinks and lounge chairs.
Local Tips & Practical Info
Take the 10-minute boat taxi from Bocas Town followed by a short jungle trail (small access fee). Keep your eyes open for sloths, monkeys, and the bright red frogs along the path. The waves can get strong — swim between the flags when lifeguards are present. Wear shoes suitable for the sometimes muddy trail.
